We are a small family of 3, and this house was the perfect size for us. We enjoyed the close walk to the beach and relaxing on the screened in porch. This is definitely the ideal house for a small family or couples looking to spend the week on the beach for a great price!!

The Madden1 was the perfect little cottage for our family for a much needed vacation. It’s a short walk to the beach, it’s just the right size to keep everyone close and not spread out all over the house. Our family made some great new memories. Our first trip to Nags Head. We were flying in from Colorado and meeting family members staying down the road. It was just my husband and I staying at the cottage. It was a nice little place for the two of us. Had all we needed to prepare a meal. The location was great. The only suggestion I would make is to have an iron on site and perhaps a blowdryer. They are small items but it would nice for those who are flying in. We would definitely recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and for not being beachfront it sure felt like it. It was less than a 2 minutes walk down the private neighborhood beach lane - toes in sand, the Atlantic Ocean before you! Beautiful beach area. Kitchen had everything we needed and the cottage had a vintage vibe and yes you can hear the ocean from the little screened porch.. Loved it!

We are practical folks and wanted a practical place to stay. FOUND IT! 1 minute walk to the beach, 3 minutes to any store by car, and all attractions were less than an hour away. The property had everything we needed and was so comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to all out friends.

Cozy cottage in a quiet area, with great stargazing sky. You can hear the waves from the screened in porch. We enjoyed preparing meals in the kitchen. Friendly people on the street.

Enjoyed our vacation here, very reasonable price and convenient location. A couple minute’s walk from the beach and 10-15 minutes from food lion. Having both the shower and hose outside the house was also very helpful. A few minor complaints: air conditioner in the room with two beds was very loud, depending on weather it’s better to use the fan at night and AC during the day. Charter spectrum internet isn’t ideal especially in bad weather (download shows before a storm comes through), but don’t think there’s anything property owners can do about that. There’s a shortage of grounded (3 prong) outlets in the bedrooms, would recommend bringing a power strip if need be. All relatively minor complaints especially with the great price, overall 4.5 stars. Would recommend for families/groups of 4 people who are looking to spend a lot of time on the beach on a budget.
