Roc F. Sansotta
in Memory of
Roc Frank Sansotta, 73, passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2025.
Born on October 12, 1951, in Covington, Kentucky, Roc was the son of the late Philip Nicholas Sansotta and Barbara Jane Robinson. From an early age, he displayed an innate drive, passion, and commitment that would define both his personal and professional life.
As President of Cove Realty, Roc Sansotta had personally developed his property management company and realtor teams from the ground up to become one of the Outer Banks most professional, experienced, and dynamic forces in the real estate community. Roc came to the Outer Banks from Northern Virginia where he began his real estate and property management career. He received many national awards for selling and listing properties throughout the area. He loved the Outer Banks and bought his first Vacation rental property here in 1991. Roc took over full ownership of Cove Realty, after having been co-owner, in 1996. He greatly expanded the services offered to homeowners and home sellers. Cove Realty currently manages approximately 150 rental properties while retaining the personal and family-oriented business Roc wanted. He also established a hands-on approach to business. Roc believed so strongly in this “hands-on approach” that you could find him working with the maintenance staff clearing debris, laying sandbags, checking on each of his homeowners’ properties - every day!
Roc’s career in real estate was marked by excellence, leadership, and a hands-on approach that made him a well-known figure in the Outer Banks community. This has always been Cove’s strength - a personal approach - and a firm company foundation built on a high standard of integrity and dependability.
Beyond his career, Roc lived a life rich with adventure, international travel, love, and unwavering generosity. He had an uncanny ability to turn any conversation into a song, keeping everyone around him entertained with his quick wit and musical spirit. In his earlier years, he found exhilaration in flying airplanes and riding motorcycles—always chasing the thrill of open skies and winding roads. He cherished the peaceful beauty of Skyline Drive, relished day trips to local festivals, and found joy in historic walks through Edenton with his beloved wife, Amira, and their cherished pup, Paulie.
A man of deep faith, Roc was actively involved in the Catholic Church, most recently serving as a devoted Eucharistic Minister at Holy Redeemer By-the-Sea Catholic Church in Kitty Hawk. His faith was evident in his everyday life—through his kindness, selflessness, and boundless generosity. Roc never met a stranger and had an incredible way of making people smile. His presence filled every room, his words never seemed to run out, and his heart knew no bounds.
Roc is survived by his son, Roc P.M. Sansotta, and grandchildren Wesley Sansotta, Ariel Sansotta, and Ireland Sansotta. He also leaves behind his siblings: Brie, Nick, Dom, Cathy, Marc, Suzanne, and Patty, as well as countless friends, colleagues, loved ones and a large community, near and far, who were fortunate enough to know him.
